The latest from Taylor

Most recently, Taylor has been focused on her fiction writing. She is working on a novel project and, as a break from that, exploring oulipo flash prompts. Taylor is also in the process of revising and submitting several new short stories for publication. See some of her latest publications below.

MFA at VCFA

Taylor graduated in July 2020 with her Masters of Fine Arts (MFA) in fiction writing. During her time in the Vermont College of Fine Arts program, she created a critical thesis on setting and the female coming of age arc, her creative manuscript (80+ pages of revised short stories), titled “We Will Wander as We Grow,” and a 30 minute craft lecture on revision across mediums of writing and pottery, titled “I am creating this lecture as a sculpture.”

Why pottery AND writing?

Taylor believes in creating. She also believes there are connections and learnings that can only be discovered from a multi-modal creative act.

She talks in more depth about this in her craft lecture, “I am creating this lecture as a sculpture.” Contact her if you’d like a copy of the lecture (video or PDF).

Taylor has several in-progress pottery commissions. Check back regularly here for progress and final pictures and for commission openings.
